Open Seminar “Big Data Processing Platform”

A joint seminar of the Center for Artificial Intelligence of PetrSU and the Department of Informatics and Mathematical Support of the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies was held on the issues of creating a center for collective use of cloud resources and a platform for processing big data.
The seminar discussed the creation of cloud services at PetrSU for students, teachers and research and production departments, including a cloud platform for big data processing (“POOBOD”) and its use in the educational process, research and project activities.

The speakers were Vadim Anatolyevich Ponomarev, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer of the Department of Informatics and Mathematical Support, Chief Specialist of the Research Laboratory “Information and Telecommunication Systems”, Alexey Georgievich Marakhtanov, Director of the Center for Research and Development, Deputy Director for Development of RCNIT, and Sergey Alexandrovich Marchenkov, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Intelligent Methods of Processing and Analysis of Data of the Central Institute of Information Technologies, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Informatics and Mathematical Support.

The seminar, which was held in a mixed face-to-face-distance format, was attended by teachers and scientists of PetrSU, employees of the Center for Artificial Intelligence.

The participants of the seminar examined in detail the architecture of “POBOD”, discussed the tasks of the Center for Artificial Intelligence for a platform for processing big data.
