Orientation Program for MSW concluded

 

Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim University’s Department of Social Work celebrated the conclusion of its 28th Orientation Program, welcoming newly admitted MSW (Master of Social Work) students for the academic year 2023-24. Over the course of a week, the program provided a comprehensive introduction to the curriculum and concurrent fieldwork, culminating in a ceremony held at Faculty of Arts.

Mr. Mohammad Imran, IPS, the Registrar of AMU, presided as the Chief Guest for the event and extended a welcome to the incoming students, commending their selection into the prestigious MSW program. In his address, Mr. Imran stressed the program’s significance in equipping students with a diverse range of skills, particularly in addressing complex global challenges.

During his speech, Mr. Imran underscored two critical aspects of social work: the role it plays in public health and corporate social responsibility. He also emphasized the pivotal role of technology in advancing the field and encouraged students to embrace the journey of becoming professional social workers, urging them to “shine through the process.”

Prof. Naseem Ahmad Khan, Chairperson of the Department of Social Work, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Mohammad Imran for his support, marking the program’s successful conclusion. The ceremony included the presentation of certificates to participants, organizers, and resource persons.

Dr. Mohd Arif Khan, Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Work, served as the event’s compere, introducing the Valedictory of the 28th Orientation Program. The event was attended by MSW students, research scholars, and faculty members.

Additionally, research scholars and students from MSW-I and II, as well as BA V Semesters, graced the occasion. Ms. Madiha Fatima, an MSW-I Semester student, offered a heartfelt vote of thanks, concluding the program on a positive note.
