Orientation programme at University Polytechnic

Aligarh: To welcome and prepare over 270 newly admitted Diploma in Engineering students for their new roles; an online ‘Orientation Program’ was organised at the University Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). The programme was held in the virtual mode to help keep students safe as a response to the Covid pandemic.

Prof Arshad Umar, Principal, University Polytechnic stressed on the need of developing practical skills and the requirement of dedication, discipline and determination to succeed.

In the welcome address, Prof Arshad also urged students to gain knowledge and training to the best of their abilities.

He advised students to make good use of the facilities that the university offers and urged them to be sincere and responsible.

Dr Wasif Ullah Khan explained the new grading system to be implemented in the current session.

Dr Syed Imran Shafiq spoke on the importance of pursuing internships.

Conducting the programme, Dr Mohd Faisal Khan (Training and Placement Officer, University Polytechnic) discussed the objectives and importance of training and placement facility in the polytechnic.

He also extended the vote of thanks.

Mohammad Israil (In charge, Polytechnic Library) and Mazhar Ali (Superintendent of Exams) spoke on library facilities and examination process respectively.
