Participation in the Plenum of the Scientific and Methodological Council on Fisheries

Training of specialists for the fishery complex of Karelia and neighboring regions has been carried out at PetrSU for over 20 years.
In order to improve the quality of education of specialists, bachelors and masters in the direction of “Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture”, constant methodological work is underway to modernize curricula, programs of professional disciplines, educational and industrial practices. Significant support and assistance in this work is provided by the Scientific and Methodological Council for Fisheries of the Federal Educational and Methodological Association (FUMO) in the higher education system for the enlarged group of specialties 35.00.00, which includes the Petrozavodsk State University.

Within the framework of the annual FUMO Plenums of the Scientific and Methodological Council on Fisheries, the most important issues of improving the higher sectoral fishery education, updating the regulatory and legal framework in the field of fisheries and the specifics of educational activities in training specialists, developing methodological and educational resources and professional standards in the field of fisheries are discussed. complex.

In 2021, the Plenum was held on the basis of the oldest educational institution in St. Petersburg – the Marine Fisheries College. The event was attended by representatives of the largest universities that train personnel for the fishing industry, as well as representatives of the Federal Agency for Fisheries (Rosrybolovstvo). A.Yu. Volkova, Associate Professor, Deputy Head of the Department of Animal Science, Fish Farming, Agronomy and Land Management of the Institute of Biology, Ecology and Agrotechnology, took part in the work of the Scientific and Methodological Council on Fisheries from Petrozavodsk State University.
