PetrSU national team returned from Kazan

In 2021, a lot of work was done to hold qualifying tournaments in several sports, so that teams could represent PetrSU at the All-Russian final of the ASCK championship.
More than 2000 people competed for prizes in several divisions in various sports. The PetrSU team was represented in 3×3 basketball, volleyball, chess and table tennis tournaments.

On the opening day of the festival, a 5 km race was held among all the participants of the event. More than 500 athletes took part in the race, including 7 students of PetrSU. The start of the mass race was given by the officials of the festival. Among the girls, the student of the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Yekaterina Skripkina, who played in the chess team at the festival, became the leader with a great advantage.

In chess, Nadezhda Pershina, a student of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, rose above everyone else at the end of the tournament. In the team competition, the PetrSU national chess team took 6th place out of 20.

Another prize-winner, Ilya Kondrashov, a student at the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences, won a bronze medal in the individual table tennis championship. In the team competition, the guys did everything possible, beating their rivals with a great advantage, but the lack of a fourth player significantly reduced the team’s position in the final protocol.

It should be noted that this was the first experience of participation of the PetrSU national team in competitions of this level, which became a good reason for building further work on the development of mass sports at the university.
