PetrSU students are finalists of the international engineering championship

The semi-final of the student league in electric power industry of the international championship CASE-IN took place, in which the team of PetrSU “Karelynaya Zashchita” successfully took part and passed to the final.
The PetrSU team included students of the Department of Energy Supply of Enterprises and Energy Saving of the Physico-Technical Institute Sergey Pimenov, Sergey Nosov, Anastasia Simanova and a student of the Department of Economic Theory and Management of the Institute of Economics and Law Elizaveta Kuchenkova.

PetrSU team captain Denis Petrushin, lecturer at the Department of Energy Supply of Enterprises and Energy Saving of the Physico-Technical Institute, noted:

The winners and prize-winners of the qualifying stages (no more than two teams from one university) took part in the semifinals of the championship, i.e. the best teams. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that most of the semi-finalist teams are undergraduates from specialized technical and energy universities.

PetrSU students took 6th place out of 18 semifinalists, and the first 9 teams go to the final. Thus, for the first time in history, the PetrSU team reaches the final of the championship, which will be held in full-time format in Moscow, tentatively at the end of May.

According to Denis Petrushin, the victory in the engineering championship semifinal was the result of a lot of work and success in various stages of the championship: victories in the qualifying stage, successful performance in the intermediate rounds of the championship. In addition, the team of PetrSU took part in the preparation of the team of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov (NArFU) to perform at the qualifying stage.

Now the PetrSU team is preparing for the final of the championship, which will take place in Moscow at the end of May.

Let us remind you that the International Engineering Championship CASE-IN is an international competition system for solving engineering cases for schoolchildren, students and young specialists of the fuel and energy and mineral resource complexes.
