PetrSU students will create innovations based on artificial intelligence together with MTS

MTS, the Center for Artificial Intelligence of PetrSU and specialized institutes (IMIT, FTI, ILGiSN) have agreed on cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and information technology. Within the framework of joint activities, educational events and other projects are planned. In addition, the parties plan to implement a case-study approach in teaching students, creating a bank of practical tasks for schoolchildren and students, as well as organizing internships in innovative digital areas.
PetrSU students were able to feel themselves part of the team of a large company and propose the idea of a digital startup within the framework of the first joint initiative – the MTS Garage workshop. Maxim Gashkov, head of the MTS Center for Internal Innovations, made a presentation on the project. He told the students how to build teamwork, how to implement and promote projects to the market. After that, the guys made a trend map, found opportunities to implement their projects, assessed threats and risks, and, of course, developed their own ideas. At the end of the event, a series of presentations of the teams’ projects took place.

Innovative thinking is a requirement of our time. And we are glad that Petrozavodsk University not only keeps pace with the times, but also sets trends, creating opportunities for students to develop in the most relevant digital areas. We are ready to support this direction by providing our resources, expertise and real cases,

– said the director of the MTS company in Karelia Alexander Kochkin.
