PhD at IDRBT, Hyderabad
Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), Hyderabad has invited applications for its full-time PhD Programme in Computer Science and Information Technology [with focus on Banking Technology] for the session starting in July 2012.
Essential Qualifications
Masters Degree in any Engineering / Technology; OR MPhil in Mathematics or Statistics or Electronics; OR BE / BTech OR Master’s Degree in Computer Applications / Mathematics / Statistics / Electronics / Information Systems / Internet Technology / Geo-Informatics / Bio-Informatics with a minimum of 60% marks in any of the above stated qualifications (a relaxation of 5% marks is provided to SC / ST candidates).
All educational qualifications must have been obtained from recognized universities / institutions in India or abroad. If grades are awarded instead of marks, candidates should clearly indicate their numerical equivalent.

Research Fellowship
The selected Research Scholars would be paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 14,000/- per month during the first and second year and Rs.15,000/- per month during the subsequent years. The fellowship is normally tenable for three (3) years.
Selection Process
The Selection Process for admission to the PhD programme would consist of:
(i) A Written Examination
(ii) Personal Interview (only for the candidates qualifying the written examination)
The applications received in response to this advertisement will be scrutinized and the candidates found suitable for the written examination will be intimated. The written examination and personal interview would be conducted at IDRBT, Hyderabad.

Candidates belonging to SC / ST category should submit along with the application a scanned copy of the certificate of their caste / tribe from a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar / Mandal Revenue Officer. Further, SC / ST candidates belonging to the state of Andhra Pradesh should submit an Integrated Community Certificate issued by the Competent Revenue Authority.
