PKU’s China-U.S. Young Maker Center wins Award of Excellence in Talent Cultivation

Peking University: Recently, the 2022 China-U.S. Young Maker Centers Annual Conference was held online and offline at Wenzhou University. Sponsored by Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges and Committee of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, Ministry of Education of China (MOE), the event was attended by officials from both inside and outside Peking University. At the conference, the annual outstanding achievements in the exchanges of China-US youth makers were summarized and prized, in which Peking University won three awards.

Advocated by the heads of both China and the U.S., China-U.S. Young Maker Centers serve as an important bridge for people-to-people exchanges and bilateral ties, and the platform has created great opportunities for the cooperation of youth innovation between two countries. As one of the 29 first-batch agencies, PKU’s China-U.S. Young Maker Center has been jointly built by PKU’s Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Office of International Relations, which has helped popularize the innovation and entrepreneurship education for enrolled students through the in-class courses, laboratories research, extra-curricular practice, etc.

Peking University among recipients of the Award of Excellence in Talent Cultivation

Reviewed by experts from MOE, the awards presented at the 2022 China-U.S. Young Maker Centers Annual Conference focused on five aspects, including organization of the center, construction of resource, education & teaching, exchange & cooperation, and outcomes. Peking University successfully passed the annual evaluation, and its China-U.S. Young Maker Center was entitled the Award of Excellence in Talent Cultivation. The Globex program run by College of Engineering and student team “DPTechnology” were awarded Project of Excellence and Team of Excellence, respectively.

In the foreseeable future, Peking University will continue to make full use of platform resources (such as China-U.S. Young Maker Centers), further strength exchanges with universities and enterprises in the U.S., and continuously enhance the level of internationalization in innovation and entrepreneurship education in campus.
