PMGSY B’pora organises seminar on ‘District Rural Roads’

 

BANDIPORA : In connection with, “Commemoration of of 75 years of Independence”, the PMGSY Division Bandipora on Friday organized a seminar on ‘District Rural Roads’ at Conference Hall, of Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir presided over the Seminar.

Speaking at the occasion, the ADC congratulated the Executive Engineer, PMGSY Division Bandipora on the achievements of PMGSY with regard to the progress made in habitation connectivity and road length completed through the various road projects.

He stressed the importance of road connectivity in aiding and enabling the overall development of rural areas and mentioned the contribution made by the various Phases of the PMGSY programme in connecting unconnected habitations, upgradation of existing road infrastructure and boosting access to rural markets and centers of rural economy.

During the Seminar, various officials of the PMGSY Department provided detailed information about the role played by the PMGSY scheme in uplifting the rural economy and the use of innovative materials (like Waste Plastic) being implemented in road construction schemes of PMGSY Bandipora.

Details about the implementation of the PMGSY-III Programme in various Blocks of the district were shared with the participants. PMGSY -III is the newest phase of the PMGSY Scheme and Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the same are currently being formulated.

DDC members of various constituencies like Nowgam, Hajin, Chittibandey (Argam) and Bandipora A among others attended the meeting.
