Politecnico di Milano: The Politecnico Di Milano Receives The Dekra Road Safety Award 2021

The Rector of the Politecnico di Milano, Ferruccio Resta, has been awarded the International “DEKRA Road Safety Award 2021”, now in its fourth year.

The aim of the award is to highlight the most active and brilliant Italian companies or professionals in the field of road safety. The Politecnico has been recognised for its commitment in this field, in particular through the recent installation of the innovative DiM400 driving simulator.

Professor Marco Bocciolone, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, received the award from Toni Purcaro, President of DEKRA Italy.

The Politecnico’s commitment to safety began many years ago when we moved from Leonardo to Bovisa and decided to include safety laboratories among our facilities, in particular the crash test facility, which was absolutely innovative at the time, but still retains very important features.

Bocciolone comments.

Moving on to the present day the most important facility we have at the moment for the study of vehicle safety, is the recently unveiled driving simulator, as, due to its particular design, it enables reactions that are very similar to those of real cars.

DEKRA is one of the largest international companies operating in the field of safety, particularly in the automotive sector.
