“It is a pride to be a sponsor of the only competition of this size in Chile, which encourages and brings young people in our country closer to statistics and data science. Both are very relevant disciplines today, because they allow us to respond to the challenges of the industry, the market, the public sector and the academy, “said Mario Ponce, dean of the Faculty of Mathematics.

“For the Faculty of Mathematics, the promotion of science among the youngest is part of its DNA, through the support of this and other initiatives, such as the National Mathematics Olympiad, the training of national representatives in mathematical Olympiads in the abroad, female mathematical training, women’s meetings in statistics and mathematics, the Mathematical Reasoning Workshop (TRM) that brings together nearly 700 talented high school students in mathematics per year and a series of activities in which we put efforts each year ” he explained.
