Poonch Admin organises awareness program on Mission Youth, other self-employment schemes
POONCH : Continuing its efforts to reach out to local youth, the District Administration Poonch organised an awareness programme in block Sathra to promote youth engagement initiatives under Mission Youth and other self employment generation schemes.
Scores of youth of the Sthra and adjoining areas attended the awareness camp. All activities related to the event were held with due adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
Chairperson District Development Council Poonch, Tazeem Akther presided over the function, while BDC Chairperson, Frida Bi also graced the occasion.
At the outset, Additional District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Abdul Sattar presented an overview of the Mission Youth program. He urged the unemployed youth of the area to come forward and avail benefits of different self employment schemes of Mission Youth. He appealed to youth to become job providers instead of job seekers by establishing their own self employment generating units under Employment generations schemes of the Government.
During the day long programme, Deputy Director Employment, Abid Hussain Shah educated the participants regarding the schemes of Mission youth J&K. He briefed the participants in detail about the schemes started under Mission Youth like MUMKIN, TAJISWANI, Sahita, Pervaaz, raise together, spurring entrepreneurship and assistance schemes for unemployment Dental surgeons.
Officers of other departments also educated the masses about the self employment generation schemes in different sectors and motivated the public to avail benefits of the same to raise their socioeconomic status.
DDC Chairperson, Tazim Akhter said that the aim of conducting the program was to impart awareness and motivate the unemployed youth of the district to take benefit of various employment generation schemes of the government. She urged the concerned stakeholders to cover all eligible beneficiaries under the Government schemes by giving wide publicity to the initiatives through all communication networks.
Farida Bi, BDC Chairperson Block Sathra, in her address said that this program was held especially for the unemployed educated youth of the area and to acquaint them about youth centric initiatives (schemes & programs). She appealed the youth to avail benefits of government schemes.
Besides senior officers from district administration, the program was attended by all district and sectoral officers dealing with self employment generation schemes and programs of government.
