The Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation will replenish eleven endowment funds of Russian non-profit organizations and cultural institutions. The total amount of donations to endowment funds will amount to 70 million rubles.
Contributions to endowment funds will be made based on the results of the advanced training program “Strategy for the Creation and Development of Endowment Funds ” , which was implemented by the Potanin Foundation in conjunction with the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO from 2019 to 2021. Support will be given to organizations whose representatives have used the knowledge and skills gained during the training to the maximum effect in practice.
Oksana Oracheva, General Director of the Potanin Foundation, noted:
We are proud of the success of the program listeners. Despite the difficulties of recent times, the postponement of training and a long period of quarantine, they have made significant progress in studying and promoting the topic of earmarked capital in Russia. During the implementation of the program, six endowment funds were created, and we decided to support them.
We hope that the Fund’s contributions in the amount of 10 million to each of the created endowments will give organizations the opportunity to implement all conceived projects and increase their financial stability. In addition to the emergence of new endowments, we are also pleased to note great progress in long-standing and proven endowment funds, such as, for example, the funds of the Southern Federal University or the Russian School of Economics. Their teams have been able to not only support sustainable endowment growth, but have also contributed to disruptive change in their organizations. As an incentive, the Fund decided to reward them with contributions of 2 million rubles.
Contributions in the amount of 10 million rubles will be made to the endowments of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater. P.I. Tchaikovsky, the Primorsky State Art Gallery, Petrozavodsk State University, the Andrei Zhabotinsky Children’s Charitable Foundation in Support of Talented Children “Andryusha” 33 “.
The organizations that will receive support in the amount of 2 million rubles for the development of the endowment include the Russian School of Economics, the Russian State Academic Youth Theater Support Fund, the Endowment NSU endowment fund owner, the State Tretyakov Gallery and the Southern Federal University.
The advanced training program “Strategy for the Creation and Development of Endowment Funds” is being implemented within the framework of the Effective Philanthropy charitable program of the Potanin Foundation. It was a set of measures for the development of professional competencies of employees of non-profit organizations in the field of creation and development of endowment funds. The program was developed by the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO and took into account the best global business education practices with a focus on leadership and project management. Its compulsory component is the implementation of projects by trainees on the formation, replenishment and use of endowment capital in their organizations.
