Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana helps youths get self-employment

 

Bhopal : Finance Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya said that youths constitute a major portion of the country’s population. The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana has proved to be effective in making self-employment opportunities available for youths. He said that loans worth Rs 3 lakh 88 thousand crores has been made available for 9 crore 22 lakh beneficiaries of the country under this scheme which is a major achievement. Shri Malaiya urged the citizens to make maximum digital transactions. Shri Malaiya was addressing the inaugural session of the Mudra Protsahan Abhiyan at Motilal Nehru Stadium in Bhopal. Loans will be provided to nearly 6 thousand needy persons under the Swarozgar Yojana today under the Mudra Protsahan Abhiyan.

Shri Malaiya said that Mudra camps are being organized in 50 cities of the country on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s initiative from September 27 to October 17. The first camp in this chain has been held at Indore. The second camp is in Bhopal. Shri Malaiya said that loans worth nearly Rs 22 thousand 500 crores has been distributed to 62 lakh 70 thousand beneficiaries so far in Madhya Pradesh in Mudra Yojana. He appealed to the bankers to adopt a sensitive attitude and provide loans to youths for self employment under Mudra Yojana.

Shri Malaiya told about the special characteristics of the Centre’s Stand-up India Yojana, Start-up, Madhya Pradesh government’s Chief Minister Economic Welfare Scheme, Mukhya Mantri Swarozgar Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Yuva Udyami Yojana. He told that 2 crore 72 lakh accounts have been opened in Madhya Pradesh under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana. Besides, RuPay cards have been issued in 1 crore 91 lakh accounts. He said that aadhar seeding work has been completed in more than 430 lakh banks. He urged the public representatives to connect maximum number of people with Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Prime Minister’s Security Insurance Scheme.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Cooperatives Shri Vishwas Sarang said that those who have obtained loans under Mudra Yojana have become successful and should go in the midst of the people as role models. Other needy persons will get inspired by such beneficiaries and connect with the yojana. Shri Sarang said that with GST implementation, Mudra will promoted more in Indian economy and the fund obtained through taxes will be used in public welfare programmes. MP Shri Alok Sanjar was also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, the State-level Bankers Committee State Coordinator Shri Ajay Vyas gave information about the objectives of the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Protsahan Abhiyan. Shri Malaiya showed the green flag to e-rickshaw of beneficiaries at Mudra Yojana. Information regarding ‘Bhim app’ was given so that cashless transactions of the centre could be promoted. Various banks and financial institutions gave information about the beneficiaries through stalls at Motilal Nehru Stadium under Mudra Protsahan Abhiyan.
