President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to the Madras Regimental Centre and Staff training College at Wellington in Nilgiris was called off due to inclement weather today, February 19. The President is leaving for Delhi at 1300 HRS from Coimbatore.

She attended the Shivratri Celebrations at the Isha Yoga Centre yesterday. Speaking at the function she said that it was a day which marks the end of winter and the beginning of shinier days. She also said that as the world is facing an unprecedented ecological crisis, there was a need for a balanced and compassionate life in harmony with Mother Nature is required. She praised the works of Sadhguru and said that he was an inspiration for young people in India and abroad.

The President and her family members attended the Satsang of the Guru in which thousands of people from all over the world participated. Earlier in the day, the President also visited the Meenakshi Amman Temple at Madurai. State Governor R.N. Ravi and State Minister Mano Thangaraj were with the President throughout the visit.
