Principal Secretary ARI visits Rajouri; chairs joint meeting of ULB Members, officers

RAJOURI : As a part of My Town My Pride (MTMP), Principal Secretary, ARI and Trainings, Ashok Kumar Parmar today visited Rajouri district and convened a joint meeting of the ULB members and officers to discuss the issues confronting the urban local bodies.

Among the others who attended the meeting were DDC Rajouri, Vikas Kundal; ADDC, Pawan Kumar; President MC Rajouri, Mohammad Arif; ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; PO ICDS, Shoket Mehmood Malik; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; AD FCS&CA, Arief Lone; ExEn PWD(R&B) Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain and others.

Councilors including Rajinder Gupta Rajesh Gupta; Sanjay Sharma; Mushtaq Ahmed; Gulfam Akhter; Pushpinder Gupta; Javaid Chowhan also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the ULB members apprised the visiting officer about a number of issues and demands including building for mini secretariat to be constructed, beautification of Rajouri town, scarcity of water, multi storey car parking project, model Anganwadi centers etc.

The Principal Secretary gave a patient hearing to all the issues and demands projected on the occasion and assured that their genuine concerns would be redressed in a time bound manner with the intervention of the concerned quarters.

Addressing the meeting, Ashok Parmar said that the UT Government is committed to providing all basic facilities at the doorsteps of the general public and best possible measures are being taken in this regard.

Highlighting the objective of the My Town My Pride program, the Principal Secretary said that the program aims to deliver public services at doorsteps, build developmental initiatives on the feedback, cooperation and participation from people and strengthen strong and vibrant local self-governance. He added that the program runs on three main objectives like inclining public outreach in towns, strengthening grassroots democracy and service delivery at doorsteps.

The Principal Secretary laid emphasis upon the officers for maintaining close coordination with the public representatives so that public issues are addressed timely. He asked them to have synergised efforts for hundred percent saturation of all Government schemes and effective delivery of varied online services of the Government on ground.
