Prof Asad U Khan receives Sri Om Prakash Bhasin Award

Aligarh : Prof Asad U. Khan, Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit, Aligarh Muslim University has been conferred with Sri Om Prakash Bhasin Award-2019 in Biotechnology category. The award was announced in 2020 and the presentation ceremony was held on February 15, 2024 at Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi.

The award carries a cash prize of Rupees one lakh with a citation and plaque.

Renowned Indian scientists including Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, MS Swaminathan, KG Menon are among the recipients of this prestigious award and Prof Asad U. Khan is the first AMU faculty member to receive this award. Prof Obaid Siddiqui, an alumnus of AMU received this honour in 1999.
