Prof Syed Mohammad Hashim has been appointed as the Dean, Faculty of Arts

Aligarh : Prof Syed Mohammad Hashim has been appointed as the Dean, Faculty of Arts for the period beginning from September 23, 2021 and coming to a close on the date of his superannuation on May 5, 2022.

He is also the Director, Urdu Academy and has served as the Chairman, Department of Urdu.

Prof Hashim has been the editor of the university quarterly research and literary journal, Fikro Nazar for two terms.

He has been awarded doctoral degrees in Urdu and Persian literature and has a great deal of knowledge in the Hindi, Sanskrit, Malayalam, Turkish and Arabic languages. Comparative and Persian literature, literary criticism, Iqbaliyat and Research methodology are his thrust areas.

Prof Hashim is the author of well known academic books and has published papers in peer-reviewed journals.
