PRSI Delhi Chapter goes online amid coronavirus outbreak

 

New Delhi: In order to bring clarity on heart and lung care during lockdown period PRSI Delhi Chapter and Ansh Foundation organized an online session. Within the larger narrative of a health pandemic, Covid-19 has brought about a serious health crisis for elderly people.

The session emphasized the importance of open and transparent conversations between patients and their doctors as People with uncontrolled diabetes, Hypertension and fluctuated blood pressure and lower immunity are at increased risk of all infections.

Dr Devendra Jain, Renowned physician took questions from participants during the session. He believes regular events like these will help build awareness. “Heart conditions and lung issues are pretty common in Delhi and awareness is very limited. Patient education and self-help sessions like this are the most essential activity that is needed today”.

The session addressed ways of tackling the current pandemic by applying various methods and means, an urgent need of the hour. It developed awareness and preparedness to deal with and address the current health crisis posed by COVID-19 to help overcome the situation

Since 28th April, 2020 PRSI Delhi Chapter has also released over 12 posters to create awareness amongst people on COVID19 under PRSI National Campaign“ Bharat Jagega Corona Bhagega” on various social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. Further, PRSI Delhi Chapter In association with ANSH Foundation has lined up more of such health related Facebook live talks with health experts from various fields.

Sh. Mohan Shukla, Chairman PRSI Delhi Chapter shared “When social distancing measures are relaxed, individuals with underlying medical conditions may still have to be particularly careful as they are more at risk of developing serious illness from COVID 19. Everyone in the family should also have an immunity building diet.”
