Public Representatives, Officers discuss Plan formation for current year at Kupwara
Kupwara: To discuss formulation of District Development Plan Kupwara for the year 2021-22, a joint meeting of officers and elected public representatives of the district was held here today.
The meeting was presided over by Chairman, District Development Council (DDC), Irfan Sultan Panditpuri and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson appreciated the initiative of District Administration particularly Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara for organizing such a meeting which gave an opportunity of interaction between public representatives and District Administration.
He assured full support on part of public representatives and in turn hoped the same from Officers of the District Administration, adding that together we can take the district to new heights. He said people have pinned hope on their representatives and it is their utmost duty to come up to their expectations.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner said that formulation of three tier plan is a new experience as such requires more conscientious and prior consultations among the forums. He urged to prioritize the works as per the requirements of the public at different council levels.
The Deputy Commissioner also presented a detailed preview of District Development Plan, its system of formulation and implementation, besides, overall plan ceiling for district under three tier Panchayati Raj System at District level, Block level and Gram Panchayat level.
he Deputy Commissioner said that under this ceiling, plan for the current financial year 2021-22 for district Kupwara stands at Rs.780 crore including the share of Area Development Fund of Rs.103.21 crore (DDC grants Rs.10 crore, BDC grants Rs.3.50 crore, PRI grants Rs.89.71 crore); General Service Rs.452.69 crore (including Rs.388.36 crore JJM and Rs.57.81 crore PMGSY); Social Service Rs.67.62 crore; R&B Rs.35.65 crore; I&FC Rs.10.21 crore and RDD Rs.110.20 crore (including Rs.94.47 crore NREGA).
It was also revealed that out of previous year’s CAPEX Budget Outlay of Rs.180 crore, Rs.170 crore were expended on the execution of various developmental projects and welfare schemes. As many as 2000 different development works including that of roads, water supply schemes, school buildings, irrigation schemes, health centres and MGNREGA works have been completed during the previous year.
The ADDC and JD Planning also addressed the meeting and gave clarifications of the queries raised by the members.
Vice Chairman, DDC Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir; President, Municipal Committee (MC), Kupwara, Reyaz Ahmad Mir; President MC Handwara, Masroor Ahmad Banday; President, MC Langate, Mohammad Sadiq Mir and all elected DDCs and BDC Chairpersons also joined the day long proceedings.
Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone was also present in the meeting, besides other district and sectoral officers of the district.
