Punjabi Translation of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer Biography Released

Aligarh :  Prof Kranti Pal, former Chairman, Department of Modern Indian Languages, Aligarh Muslim University has translated the biography of renowned Malayalam novelist and short story writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer (1908-1994), written by MN Karassery, into Punjabi. The biography has been published by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, under the Makers of Indian Literature Series.

Prof Mohammad Asim Siddiqui, Chairman, Department of English, and Member Incharge, Public Relations Office, AMU released the Punjabi translation of the biography in a ceremony held at the Department.

A monograph on Qurratulain Hyder, under the same series, translated by Prof Mohammad Asim Siddiqui has also recently come out from Sahitya Akademi.

Prof TN Satheesan, Prof Rashmi Attri and Prof Samina Khan were present on the occasion.
