Qawaali, Rock, Soulful songs, Masquerade Night, marked the second day of Antaragni, IIT Kanpur’s college festival
Kanpur, : The second day of Antaragni ‘23, one of India’s most anticipated college festivals at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK), presented breath-taking showcase of talent, music, and culture that left the audience spellbound. With a plethora of events, ranging from musical extravaganzas to cultural celebrations, Day 2 of Antaragni 2023 was a memorable experience for all in attendance.
The day commenced early, almost seamlessly transitioning from the previous night. This day witnessed the grand finale of the eight-month-long rock music competition Synchronicity, headlined and judged by the proficient rock band GODLESS. The International Carnival saw the incredibly talented musician Yui Yui take the stage, mesmerizing the crowd with her captivating performance. Her artistry showcased the universality of music and transcended language barriers, uniting a diverse audience in a shared love for music.
The day was not just about music, as the Qawaali performance by the Ali Sufi Brothers and the classical evening where artist Shariq Mustafa added a cultural touch to the festival. Their soulful renditions resonated with India’s rich heritage and traditions, captivating the audience.
Preliminary rounds of various events, including Nukkad Natak, Estampie, Pair on Stage, Stage Play, and Antaragni Idol, took place throughout the day. These competitions showcased the exceptional talent and creativity of the participating students, setting the stage for a fierce competition in the days to come. Cultural celebrations extended to a debate competition, a Japanese Quilling event, a quiz competition and an Origami display.
Ventriloquist Anil Singh also took the stage, showcasing his unique talent that left the audience both amazed and entertained. Anicon took Antaragni by storm, uniting anime enthusiasts in a spectacular celebration of Japanese pop culture, creating unforgettable memories in every frame.
The highlight of the evening was the highly-anticipated “Blitzkrieg” Pronite event, where music maestro Amit Trivedi left the audience in awe with his soothing voice and soulful melodies. His performance was a masterclass in musical artistry that resonated with the hearts of everyone present. The crowd was treated to a night of music that they will remember for years.
As the night fell, the “Masquerade Night” added a touch of mystery and intrigue to the festival. Participants and attendees donned masks and costumes, creating a surreal atmosphere that added excitement to the event. But the night didn’t end there. The crowd also experienced the unique thrill of a “Silent Disco,” where they could groove to their favorite beats with wireless headphones. This innovative concept allowed participants to choose their musical journey, creating an electrifying and immersive experience.
The day concluded with the “Talent Fiesta” event titled “Groove and Soothe,” where Biswaroop Chakraborty’s enchanting vocals and soulful renditions captivated the attendees’ hearts and spirits. Antaragni 2023 is not just a college festival; it’s a celebration of talent and culture that brings together young minds from across the country.
