Maharana Pratap Sports College become the undefeated champions as the ‘Number one school in sports’ at SFA Championships in Uttarakhand

 The vibrant city of Dehradun witnessed an electrifying grand finale as the 3rd edition of the SFA Championships came to a thrilling close. This remarkable event celebrated the indomitable spirit of sportsmanship and discovered new sporting talent that will contribute to the future of the sporting ecosystem. The most prestigious title of “number one school in sports” in Uttarakhand, was gloriously awarded to Maharana Pratap Sports College.
The stellar journey of Maharana Pratap Sports College “as the number one school in sports”, was a great showcase of their dedication and perseverance. The team celebrated this historic win with 427 points and an impressive tally of 57 Gold, 29 Silver, and 15 Bronze medals. This outstanding achievement reflects the school’s commitment to empower sporting talent and emphasizes on the importance of shaping the future of sporting champions.
This year, the second position at SFA Championships, Uttarakhand was secured by Acharyakulam with 220 points where the participants clinched 15 gold, 15 silver and 5 bronze medals while The Sapience School stood third with 212 points clinching 28 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze medals.
Shri Sunil Uniyal, Mayor of Dehradun highlighted the pivotal role of sports in the holistic development of students and building a strong sporting culture. “I am truly impressed by the SFA Championships and the impact it has created. The closing ceremony was graced by esteemed guests who emphasized on the significance of sports and the profound impact of these Championships on the lives of young athletes.
At the SFA Championships, another unique discovery is the title of “Golden Girl” and “Golden Boy”. Any athlete to have competed across multiple sports and picked podium position is awarded this title. The ‘Golden Girl’ title was shared by Megha Singh Aggarwal from Pestleweed School who won 6 medals (2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals) in Athletics and Swimming and Aaditri Bhardwaj from Summer Valley School who won 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal in table tennis. Interestingly the ‘Golden Boy’ title was split between two athletes, Shaurya Chaudhary from New Doon Blossoms School who clinched 1 gold and 4 silver medals in swimming (across categories) and Adi Jain from Ann Mary School who won 2 gold medals in carrom and speedcubing.

The Championships have become an integral part of our sporting calendar, and we are committed to promoting sports excellence, across age groups.”
The grand finale of the 3rd SFA Championships showcased the incredible talent of young athletes who competed in more than 4000 matches, with 11days, across multiple sporting categories.
Maharana Pratap Sports College emerged as a champion in Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Judo and Volleyball, meanwhile, Acharyakulam became the leading school in Chess, Handball, Kabaddi, Skating, and Yogasana. Additionally, in Carrom, Fencing, and Shooting, Social Baluni Public School excelled, making them the standout champions in these sports. Additionally, Swimming was led by Ecole Globale International School, Karate was championed by Shivalik Academy while Basketball matches witnessed the excellence of the players of St. Mary’s Secondary School. The number one school in carrom was Subhash Chandra Bose Academy whereas in speedcubing was The Sapience School.
The SFA Championships recognized and celebrated top athletes, who have showcased extraordinary skill and dedication throughout the championships.
