Rama Devi Women’s University is planning to open doctoral programmes for students in the academic session 2020-21
The Rama Devi Women’s University here, the State’s first women’s varsity, is planning to open doctoral programmes for students in the academic session 2020-21, informed the the authorities on the occasion of its Foundation Day celebration on Thursday.
The university would introduce PhD programmes in 11 subjects. However, a decision is yet to be taken on the students’ strength in each department. The decision on the number of seats for students would be taken on the basis of professors’ availability in the departments, the authorities said.
Besides, the university has decided to open Education (Hons) for the first time in Plus III degree course.
Meanwhile, the university has appointed two faculty members for the Master of Journalism & Mass Communication (MJMC). The admission into the course would take place in this academic session. Initially, the admission into the MJMC course would be held in 32 seats.
The process to fill 64 Assistant Professors’ posts lying vacant in the university has already begun. Also, the new infrastructure including five buildings approximately at a total cost of Rs 55 crore under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) would be functional soon, the authorities said.
