Ramban admin discusses roadmap for achieving JJM targets

Ramban: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired a meeting to discuss and chart out a roadmap for effective implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission and Jal Shakti Abhiyan in the district.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; ACR, Dhirendra Sharma; DPO Sunil Buthyal; Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, Nazir Jaral; Engineers and other senior officers attended the meeting.

A threadbare discussion was held on all components under JJM, which include schemes under retro-fitting, formulation of Village Action Plans, sanction of DPRs in Appraisal Committee, uploading of to-date status of FHTC (Functional Household Tapped Connections), coverage of schools, SWCs and PHCs, distribution of Free Tool Kits to Panchayats and schools and quality of potable drinking water.

The meeting was informed that 89 schemes including 75 new schemes would be taken up under JJM, besides the gap in 100 per cent coverage under FHTC shall be achieved under the slogan ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’. It was informed that more than 35000 households shall be brought under the FHTC category in the district under different heads including LPS, NRWDP, NABARD and JJM.

While reviewing the coverage under VAPs prepared for providing potable water facility to the left-over households in the district, the DC directed Executive Engineer to upload the VAPs approved by the Pani Samitis on the MIS portal by April 15 positively. He also advised the Executive Engineer to ensure 100% water connection coverage of School and Anganwari Centres. He directed for submitting Daily Progress Report in this regard.

The DC passed instructions to SDMs to made public aware about the importance of AADHAR linkage under Jal Jeeven Mission for meeting the targets under Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) category. He also asked all stakeholder departments and the general public to register their connections to avail the regular water supply.

The DC urged the officers to work in close coordination to achieve the targets within the stipulated time frame. He asked the Jal Shakti Department to seek the support of PRIs in expediting implementation of various components under Jal Jeevan Mission. Necessary directions were also given for continuing the mass awareness drives for water conservation and preservation under Jal Shakti Abhiyan.
