Randstad launches ‘The Engineering Challenge’

Mumbai: Randstad, the leading HR services provider in the country has launched The Engineering Challenge, in close cooperation with engineers of the Formula 1 Williams Racing team.

This challenge is aimed at engineering professionals and consists of three laps, each running for a week. The smartest and quickest problem-solvers are in the running to win great prizes, such as tickets to a Formula 1 race and an exclusive visit to the Williams factory in Grove (UK) and a meet & greet with Williams engineers on site. It is the second time that Randstad is running this global campaign. This Engineering Challenge will run simultaneously across seven countries: India, Canada, Singapore, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and the USA.

To participate in the challenge, one should go to www.randstadengineeringchallenge.com and sign up.

Talking about the challenge, Dr. Moorthy K Uppaluri, MD & CEO of Randstad India said, “In a country like India, STEM is a crucial domain that drives innovation owing to the ubiquitous technology, proliferation of affordable smartphone devices and the subsequent data explosion that’s democratizing information access. Engineers make a real difference in improving people’s lives, since they have critical thinking skills to convert the wealth of data available today into quality information and are at the forefront of ground-breaking innovations. Our Engineering Challenge is the perfect opportunity for such talent to showcase their unique skills and structured thought process, getting rewarded and recognized in the process”.

“Engineers are problem crunchers, and the Engineering Challenge appeals to that”, says Joost Schriever, who is responsible for the Williams partnership at Randstad Holding. “Promoting education and career opportunities in STEM profiles is crucial in a labor market where technical skills are in high demand. With the challenge, we hope to attract more engineers and help to fulfill the increasing demand for this target group”.

Randstad has been an official partner of Williams since 2006. The partnership has resulted in many events on and off the tracks. One of the joint initiatives is the Randstad Williams Engineering Academy, enrolling top-students in an e-learning program combined with regular mentor support from Williams and career guidance from Randstad. The Engineering Challenge is the latest initiative resulting from the partnership.
