Reasi admn, Red Cross Society deliver medicines at door steps

Reasi: District Administration Reasi in association with Red Cross society has delivered medicines for patients with terminal illness and similar conditions at their door steps.
Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib informed that since the first phase of lockdown more than 80 patients have received medicines worth more than Rs 1.35 lakh till date.
She said that under the initiative, family or kin of patients with terminal illness share their prescription with WhatsApp Helpline number of Red Cross Society, 9622168777. The medicines are procured and delivered to the patient by a network of volunteers of the t district administration and the Red Cross Society, she added.
She further said that generally the cost of medicines is borne by the patient’s family, but if a case with weak financial background approaches the administration, the cost of medicines is waived off.
Patients with medical conditions of heart, kidney, liver, brain and those with diabetes, blood pressure and hypertension are catered to on preference under the initiative, the DC informed.
Meanwhile, DC also informed that two girls of Tali Morh Reasi, both patients of Thalassemia are in urgent need of blood transfusion; their blood groups being A+ and AB+. She said that although administration is helping them with the expenses, they can’t be helped without cooperation from generous blood donors. She appealed to the public that those who are ready to donate can contact on WhatsApp number of Red Cross Helpline, 9622168777.
