COVID-19: Large scale sample collection continues at Udhampur, Over 2700 samples collected

Udhampur: Under an initiative to bring stranded persons to their home town and conducting their tests for COVID-19, all such people belonging to Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar and Udhampur Districts are being sampled at Udhampur.
In this regard DDC Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla has made elaborate arrangements for collection of samples for COVID-19 test of these people. DDC informed that 11 teams of health departments are on the job at different locations to collect samples, so far 3287 people of these four districts returned from outside J&K and out of which samples of more than 2753 people have been collected and medical teams are on the job to collect the samples of all the returnees.
As per the District wise detail available total number of people returned is 3287 so far and out of which 1587 belong to Udhampur, 681 to Doda, 910 to Ramban and 109 people belong to Kishtwar District. 1314 people of Udhampur District have been sent to Administrative quarantine and people of rest of the districts have been sent to their respective districts for quarantine.
After collection of samples these people are sent to their respective districts for mandatory Administrative quarantine. Concerned districts have also deputed officers for facilitation of sampling of these people and their movement to the respective districts thereafter for Administrative quarantine.
Pertinent to mention here that Udhampur Administration has set up 56 quarantine centres with capacity of 4378 at different locations in the district so far and effective arrangements are in place for the functioning of these centres.
