Refresher course for Urdu teachers concludes

 

ALIGARH : The week-long refresher course on “Teaching Methodology of Language and Literature,” organized by the Centre for Promotional Development of Urdu Teachers (CPDUT), popularly known as the Urdu Academy, Aligarh Muslim University, concluded here with a valedictory programme, presided over by the chief guest, noted litterateur and Sahitya Akademi award recipient Prof Shafey Kidwai.

Prof Kidwai, who is also the Director of Sir Syed Academy, urged the participants to equip them with the latest technological advances that have completely changed the educational environment. He said Urdu people should also focus on embracing the changes that has been caused by the introduction of the Artificial Intelligence (AI).

He emphasized the need for revision in the medium of instruction and empowering the Urdu teachers with the ability to use the latest means and ways for making Urdu education beneficial to the learners.

He said that despite the technological advances and wider implications of AI, the importance of teachers remains unchallenged; however they need to bring about a change in the method of instruction.

Prof Kidwai stressed the need for digitalizing the resource material and publishing it through internet tools for its wider accessibility.

In the feedback session, the participants shared what they learned.

Earlier, welcoming the guest, the Director of the Academy, Prof. Quamrul Hooda Faridi highlighted the programme details and urged the participating AMU school teachers to usein their teaching what they have learned during the week-long refresher course.

He, along with the chief guest, distributed the certificates to the participants.
