RLDA employees contribute one-day salary to PM Relief Fund for tackling COVID-19
New Delhi: The employees of the Railway Land Development Authority(RLDA), an organization under the Ministry of Railways, have decided to donate their one-day salary voluntarily to the Prime Minister`s National Relief Fund in an attempt to augment the government’s efforts in tackling COVID-19.
“We are witnessing an unprecedented time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We commend the healthcare fraternity for their untiring efforts to combat this global crisis. As a responsible organization, we stand with the government and donate one-day salary to the Prime Minister Relief Fund as our small contribution towards our nation’s efforts, under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, to fight this pandemic. We are also committed to ensuring seamless operations by extensive use of digital technology,” said Shri Ved Parkash Dudeja, Vice- Chairman, Railway Land Development Authority.
Since the beginning of the lockdown, RLDA has been following the guidelines laid down by the government to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. All employees of RLDA are working from home interacting and holding meetings via video conferencing to ensure seamless operations. RLDA has advised all its employees to stay at home and maintain social distancing to avoid the spread of the virus.
Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Railways, for the development of vacant Railway land for commercial use in line with the objective to generate revenue by non-tariff measures. Currently, Indian Railway has approximately 43,000 hectares of vacant land across India.
