Royal Challenge Sports Drink salutes the ‘Real Heroes’ of India ahead of the T20 season

Bhubaneswar: Since the beginning of this year, the meaning of life has changed, and in this new normal, the idea of Heroes has been redefined. The regular people have transformed into selfless frontline warriors who have gone above and beyond their call of duty during unprecedented times. When the pandemic posed a challenge, these heroes gave hope to humanity. Royal Challenge Sports Drink with Royal Challengers Bangalore have come together to salute these “Real Challengers”. With heartwarming, heroic stories of such real challengers across India, who have worked selflessly to aid those in need during these trying times, the campaign intents to inspire millions to embrace this spirit and be Real Challengers in their own context. The campaign goes live with a TVC in which Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Yuzwendra Chahal proudly tell the stories of these heroes making their contribution during such unprecedented times.
With the diversity of culture embedded in the depths of our country, heroes from across regions have shown grit and courage to push their boundaries in support of brotherhood and humanity. One such hero hails from the homely city of Bhubaneshwar. Nilachala Parida,25 , is a national-level mountaineer. After cancelling a pre-planned European expedition, he decided to focus his time and effort to those who needed it during the pandemic. With the help of his friends, Nilachala setup a makeshift hut to sell vegetables, also providing afree home delivery option to those with aged family members who were suffering from various health issues. This act helped the residents of the Baramunda area of the city immensely, and he was appreciated for his valuable contribution. With his shop, he was also able to raise money to COVID-19 relief funds of the State and Central Government.
“I was able to contribute to the community using my savings which I earned from driving and I am also grateful for the support of my friends as well and I am glad to have been able to do my bit for the community during these tough times. It is my honor to be called as a Real Challenger and be part of this heart-warming campaign,” commented Nilachala Parida while talking about his journey during the past few months. Expressing his views on the campaign Amarpreet Anand, EVP & Portfolio Head (Diageo India) & Board of Director (RCB)said, “These unprecedented times have seen warriors and heroes emerge across the country who have been doing their bit and spreading a glimpse of hope as we fight the war against COVID 19. As an effort to recognize their deeds and honor them, Royal Challenge Sports Drink will salute these heroes during the T2o season.”
