RWTH offers online compact course in higher mathematics

After the success of last year, the RWTH is again offering prospective engineering students the online compact course “hm4mint-intensive”. Pupils can already complete the first-semester module “(Higher) Mathematics 1” and take an exam there before the start of their studies.

Mathematics plays a central role at the beginning of engineering education and is therefore of great importance for the transition from school to university. Teachers pick up the new students from the school mathematics department and repeat this from the university’s point of view. The intensive course is intended to take some pressure off the first semester. In addition, the participants can already gain initial experience for their studies.

As part of the course, online tutorials, question-and-answer sessions and lecture videos are offered via the RWTH’s digital learning platforms. This year, the offer is supplemented by a variant for the Bachelor of Computer Science, so that the course with its final exam is recognized for almost every (M) INT subject at RWTH.
