Technical University of Munich allows students for free self Covid 19 test

After a semester that was once again dominated by the Corona pandemic, the examination phase will soon begin. In order to enable all students to participate as safely as possible, including in on-campus exams, TUM is making up to five free self-tests available to all of its students on a one-time basis from 14.07.2021.

Self-tests for students
For the beginning exam period, all TUM students can get up to five self-tests for free on a one-time basis from 14.07.2021. They can be picked up at the TUMshop on the main campus or at the specially set up pick-up points in Garching or Freising:

Pick-up point in Munich (TUMshop): http://portal.mytum.de/displayRoomMap?0143@0501
Pick-up point in Freising (Raum 034, ZHG): http://portal.mytum.de/displayRoomMap?034@4214
Pick-up point in Garching (Raum 003, Exzellenzzentrum): http://portal.mytum.de/displayRoomMap?003@5530
The pick-up points are open from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 14:00.

Students only need to show their Student Card to pick up the tests. Self-testing is done without supervision, ideally at home before going to the exam, and is voluntary – but it is an important component in the fight against the pandemic. TUM therefore asks all students taking on-campus exams to take advantage of the offer. More information on how to pick up the self-tests can be found at https://www.tum.de/en/about-tum/news/coronavirus/corona-teaching-exams/.

Obligation to wear masks during examinations
At the seat in the examination room there is no obligation to wear FFP2 masks, however, students have to at least wear a medical mask. Otherwise, the obligation to wear an FFP2 mask still applies in all rooms and buildings of the TUM – also on the way to the individual seat.
