RWTH: RWTH podcast “Krautnah” honored
David Spencer, Caspar Langenbach and Laura Merx received awards for their Krautnah podcast . This is created in the teaching and research area Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Plants at RWTH Aachen University and has meanwhile been downloaded over 15,000 times. In 20 episodes to date, the Aachen experts have been interviewing on topics related to plant research and breeding, agriculture, biotechnology and sustainability.
The RWTH team’s concept convinced the jury in the university competition for the Science Year 2020 | 21 “Bioeconomy”. Students and young scientists were invited to develop creative and innovative communication ideas for their research topics. Five projects have now received a certificate because they were able to convey the social significance of their research to a broad public particularly well and to encourage a social debate about their research topic.
The award was presented by Anja Karliczek, Federal Minister for Education and Research, and Professor Günter M. Ziegler from the “Science in Dialogue” steering committee at the digital closing event of the Science Year.
