Security beefed up at Aligarh Muslim University
Aligarh: Security has been beefed-up at the entry and exit points of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) such as the Bab-e-Syed, Centenary Gate, Dental Gate-Dental Check Post and New Gate near ABK Union School-Boys.
“The security staff at the entry points has been directed to maintain a register noting down details of names with phone numbers of all male persons entering the university premises on two-wheelers, in cars and other four-wheelers and three-wheelers. Exemption from entry into the register will only be given to those persons entering with valid university identity cards and vehicles passed issued by the Proctor’s Office”, said AMU Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS).
He added: “The Proctor has been requested to direct the security officials to check the validity of the University identity cards and vehicle passes so that names of the persons with expired ID cards and vehicles passes can also be recorded”.
