Seerat Conference for U/19 Boys & Girls concludes at Anantnag

ANANTNAG : The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYS&S) Anantnag today organised a District level Seerat conference in the age group of U/19 for both Boys and Girls at Govt. Higher Secondary School Khanabal, here

The conference was organised under the guidance of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Mushataq Ahmad Pampori and was managed in two halls at the venue with separate accommodation for Boys and Girls with all necessary arrangements put in place by the Activity Incharge Muhammad Abass Dar.

The participants took part in both Naat and Topic competitions and a total of around 215 both boys and girls from various Higher Secondary Schools of the district participated.

In Topic section Heena Yousuf from HSS Mattan, Mehwish Amin from GHSS Anantnag and Seerat Yaseen from HSS Dethu Secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively, while in Naat section Nisha Hameed from HSS Dethu, Arbeena Ashiq from HSS Khanabal and Mehwish Farooq from HSS Seer secured 1st, 2nd & 3rd position respectively in Girls competition.

Among boys, Burhan Gulzar from HSS Devalgam, Mazamil Shafi from HSS Srigufwara and Yasir Ahmad Mir from HSS Soaf secured 1st, 2nd & 3rd position respectively for Topic section.

During the closing ceremony, the District Youth Services and Sports Officer and Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Khanabal distributed prizes among the position holders.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest highlighted the importance of co-curricular activities and assured every possible support and hailed the efforts of the department for smooth conduct of co-curricular activities providing youth a platform to showcase their talent.
