Seminar on Machine Learning Techniques in Banking
A joint seminar of the Center for Artificial Intelligence of PetrSU and the Department of Probability and Data Analysis of the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies on the application of machine learning methods in the banking sector was held.
The seminar was conducted by the staff of the Center for Artificial Intelligence Nikolai Smirnov, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Probability and Data Analysis of the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies, and Evgeny Parenchenkov, programmer of the Department of Intelligent Methods of Data Processing and Analysis. They talked about the application of machine learning methods in the problem of predicting the client’s going to default on the example of parsing the solutions of the AlfaBattle 2.0 hackathon.
The seminar, which was held in a mixed face-to-face-distance format, was attended by teachers and scientists of PetrSU, employees of the Center for Artificial Intelligence.
The participants of the seminar discussed the use of machine learning for solving financial problems (for example, such as predicting a client’s default when deciding whether to grant him a loan), an overview of the tasks of the AlfaBattle 2.0 hackathon and the data sets used.
During the seminar, the participants discussed general approaches to solving the assigned tasks, metrics for comparing solutions and analyzed the best cases of the hackathon.
