Seminar “Russian philology at PetrSU 80 years”

On April 23, a seminar “Russian philology is 80 years at PetrSU”. The event dedicated to the history of Russian philological science at the university was prepared by the master’s students “Actual problems of Russian philology” under the guidance of prof. N.V. Patroeva.

The scientific supervisor of the undergraduates opened the seminar, telling about how the preparation of the project and the creative assignment had been going on for two years by the efforts of graduate students of the Institute of Philology, who worked with the materials of the PetrSU archive, old issues of the newspaper “Petrozavodsk University” and the journal “Scientific Notes of PetrSU”, thanked the teaching staff of the older generation of philologists of Petrozavodsk for consultations and stories about the past of the departments of the Russian language and Russian literature of the historical-philological (since 1986 philological) faculty.

Students in the original form of “conversation” and fabulous manner presented painstakingly collected information about the origin and development of scientific and pedagogical schools of both philological departments. For the first time, many materials became the property of the general public and added to the collection of documentary evidence collected in previous years for the anniversary editions of PetrSU. This is the first contribution of students to the creation of the “Museum of the Word” – a project adopted in the Development Program of the Institute of Philology of PetrSU for 2021-2025.

The event was attended by teachers of PetrSU, guests from the Karelian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, students.
