Serbian Students and Universities Interested in Studying at UrFU

During the visit to Serbia, Sergey Tushin, the Vice Rector for International Relations of the Ural Federal University, and Evgenia Saburova, the Head of the International Marketing and Communications Office, visited the Russian House in Belgrade and held negotiations with Vyacheslav Charskiy, the Deputy Director of the Russian House in Belgrade, as well as with the representatives of the Russian House, Babenko Olesya, the Coordinator of Educational Programs, and Engelhardt Georgy, the Advisor of the Russian House in Belgrade.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to sign an agreement between UrFU and the Russian House on joint activities. It is expected that UrFU will participate in the country commission for the selection of applicants from the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Croatia, and Slovenia to Russian universities, as well as establish relations with educational institutions of these countries. Distribution of materials of the Ural Federal University by the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Belgrade, informing applicants about study opportunities at the University and its educational projects. The possibility of holding a short-term Russian language adaptation course “Russian from scratch. Intensive” for candidates who received a quota from the Government of the Russian Federation and were assigned to study at the Preparatory Department.

Within the framework of the visit to the Russian House, a meeting was held with the representative of the University of Belgrade Elena Svarcan, a professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University. The intention of the University of Belgrade to prolong the cooperation with the UrFU was confirmed. The parties agreed to sign the cooperation agreement for a new term and to continue joint scientific activities, as well as activities in the Information Technologies and Biotechnologies. The parties also agreed to develop a new area of cooperation in Mechanical Engineering in the field of Aerospace.

In addition, Evgenia Saburova gave a presentation on the University and its scientific and educational opportunities for postgraduate students from Belgrade at the Russian House. She also informed the participants about the fields of education, study conditions, and enrollment. The PhD students are interested in Food Biotechnology and Chemical Technology. These are the postgraduate programs that are taught in both Russian and English, which attracts applicants who intend to apply for next year’s admission to the programs in English and learn Russian at the same time.
