Shanti Rally taken out in Poonch to promote Gandhian philosophy of truth & non-violence

POONCH : Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary today flagged-off the Shanti Rally from Moori Gursai to Shahsitar.

The Shanti Rally was organised to spread the message of Mahatma Gandhi to all, more specifically with regard to the Gandhian philosophy of truth and non-violence.

The participants marched through the village, holding placards adorned with inspiring quotes from Mahatma Gandhi and chanting slogans advocating peace and harmony. The rally’s overarching goal was to inspire individuals to embrace the path of non-violence and actively contribute to building a more peaceful society.

On the occasion, the DC said that the Shanti Rally is aimed to popularize the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi with regard to peace and universal brotherhood.

DC also urged students on maintaining cleanliness not only in houses but also on roads, drains, public places including tourist spots and all other surroundings for the healthy society.

He also commended the School Education department for organising Shanti Yatra to commemorate the birth anniversary of the father of the nation.

Chief Education Officer Poonch, ACR Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, SDM Surankote/Mendhar, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, BDO, DEPO Poonch N.M. Suri, Principal, Teachers and other concerned were present on the occasion.
