Sir Syed Day: A Path of Inspiration and Heritage Walk at SS Hall South
Aligarh : The Cultural and Literary Society of SS Hall South, in collaboration with AMU’s Training and Placement Office organized an event on October 20 to commemorate “Sir Syed Day: A Path of Inspiration.” The program featured a heritage walk within the SS Hall South premises, leaving a lasting impression on attendees.
Dr. Rahat Abrar, former director of Urdu Academy and the chief guest, delved into the historical significance of the campus and its structures. He also an emphasized the role of education in combating societal subjugation and injustice.
Dr. Farooq Ahmad Dar, the Provost of SS Hall South, emphasized Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s timeless teachings, his mission to contribute to societal development, and his commitment to positive change, irrespective of established social norms.
Mr. Saad Hameed, TPO (General), encouraged students to uphold a clear vision for their future and focus on their goals, in line with the founder’s mission.
Dr. Mohd Kaif Farshori, Warden of SS Hall South, encouraged students to explore the literary treasures left by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.
Dr. Muzamil Mushtaq, Assistant TPO (General), initiated the event by highlighting its significance. Md. Shahzeb, Secretary of the Cultural and Literary Society of SS Hall South, extended gratitude to the guests.
Student speeches provided a unique perspective on the event. Ms. Sayed Aqsa emphasized Sir Syed’s curiosity and courage to question the status quo, qualities that continue to inspire the university’s students. Mr. Sarim Mustafa Khan explored the legacy of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and his impactful reforms, showcasing the enduring influence of his vision on various aspects of society.
The event concluded with a heritage walk, offering fascinating insights into the university’s history and architecture.. Additionally, the discovery that one of the hostels had once had a law faculty added depth and significance to the institution’s heritage value.
