Six King’s Founders Recognized Among Leading Young Entrepreneurs

Six King’s start-up founders are included in a list of the leading young entrepreneurs compiled by the research organisation Hurun, making the university one of the most active training grounds for young entrepreneurs.

Harry Stebbings was included in the list of entrepreneurs under 35. Following a degree in Law he started a podcast focused on venture capital and went on to co-found Stride VC, a seed fund, in 2018. In 2020, he launched his own venture capital fund.

Also included in the under 35 list is Dr Megan Rossi, a gut health, nutrition expert and award-winning scientist in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine. Known as the ‘Gut Doctor’, Rossi’s food brand Bio&Me makes healthy porridge and granolas. England football captain Harry Kane is among investors who have so far poured £3m into the brand.

Josephine Philips, founder of the Sojo clothing repair app and a Philosophy & Physics graduate, was included in the under 30s category. Sojo was backed by King’s own accelerator hosted at the Entrepreneurship Institute. Also included in the under 30s category were Mathias Krieger (Economics and Management, 2018) and Murvah Iqbal (Development Economics and International Development, 2017) who co-founded the eco-friendly delivery firm Hived, which last year raised £10m of investment.

To be included in the list, entrepreneurs under 30 needed to have founded or co-founded a company estimated to be worth around US$10m. Inclusion in the Under35s list required entrants to have built a business worth around US$50m.

Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial mindsets are at the heart of everything we do at King’s, to support our innovation ecosystem. It’s fabulous to see King’s listed as the 5th leading university in the UK for start-ups, and so impressive to see the range of issues the six King’s entrepreneurs are addressing with their individual ideas. We continue to wish them lots of luck on their entrepreneurial journeys!”
