SKKU’s Student Jin-Young Ko (Department of Sports Science) Won the LPGA’s Season Finale and Money Title
Due to the COVID-19, Jin-Young Ko only participated in four tournaments this year, but she sure made it count.
Ko won the CME Group Tour Championship by finishing the final round at 18 under-par 270 at the final season. It was held at Tiburon Golf Club on December 21 (Mon). With this victory, Ko received $1.1 million and it gave her the LPGA Tour money title at $1,667,925 even though she played only four LPGA events. Ko finished the short season in 2020 by winning the money title for the second consecutive year.
Her return to the LPGA tour took place only in November. It was almost at the end of the season and because of her gap it was hard to predict how her performance would be like. In the meantime, Se-Young Kim became the world’s No. 1. However, as winning the championship, she showed her outstanding skills and kept her position as the world’s No. 1 in 2020.
