SLU still top three in university ranking
SLU is still ranked as one of the world’s three best universities in the fields of agricultural and forestry sciences. It is the QS organisation that now releases the World University Ranking list for 2020.
Wageningen University, The Netherlands tops the Agriculture & Forestry list, followed by Davis in California, USA and then SLU.
In the category of Veterinary Medicine, SLU is ranked at 27th, a small drop compared to last year’s 22nd place.
“We are very proud to continue to be ranked number three in the world by QS. It is an impressive effort made by many employees on a daily basis to get there”, says SLU Vice-Chancellor Maria Knutson Wedel.
“It is also a receipt that we are able to live up to our ambition to be an international university with world-class research while also having high-quality vocational education in Sweden that requires professional practical experience, in parallel with a large activity to investigate the state of the surrounding environment, where we gather and analyze data and suggest decision-making, like a number of other authorities”, she continues.
“I am grateful and delighted to have been given the confidence to be the Vice-Chancellor of a very special university of excellence”, concludes Maria Knutson Wedel.
