Smt. Sudha Raghunathan’s vocal recital marks the grand finale of the 150th birth week celebrations of Lalaji Maharaj at the largest meditation hall in the world
Hyderabad : The final day of the ten-day long Kanha Music & Meditation Festival closed with yet another extraordinary concert rendered by Smt. Sudha Ranganathan at Kanha Shanti Vanam – the headquarters of Heartfulness in the outskirts of Hyderabad. The festival is celebrating 150th birth anniversary week of Lalaji Maharaj – the Adi Guru of Shri Ram Chandra Mission. Over hundreds of thousands of seekers and visitors have been thronging the place even before the celebrations kickstarted and have been staying there as they partook in the Bhandara festivities. A mass meditation soon followed the concert under the guidance of Shri Kamlesh Patel ‘Daaji’ – the current President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission and Guide of Heartfulness Meditation Worldwide. Ms. Sudha Murthy, Director MEIL, Sudha Reddy Foundation Chairperson, and Chairperson to Sri Bhusametha Venkateswara Temple was also present at the event as a special guest.
Shri Kamlesh Patel ‘Daaji’ said, “It is a very special occasion for me as my master’s legacy is being celebrated by millions of participants from around the world. The past ten days have been luminous through the grace of Lalaji Maharaj and to see how many are embracing his method of meditation through Pranahuti is heart-warming. He has always been an inspiration to me and he continues to inspire millions by the greatness of his personality.”
A stellar performance by Smt. Sudha Raghunathan was the hallmark of the festival as her soulful music set the rhythm for a spiritual journey. This was followed by mass Heartfulness meditation led by Shri Kamlesh Patel ‘Daaji’ – the Guide of Heartfulness Meditation Worldwide and the current President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission. This is not the first time a renowned vocalist has performed at Kanha Shanti Vanam. Last year, there were also the singer duo Ranjani-Gayatri who performed in support of Forests by Heartfulness.
Ms. Sudha Raghunathan said, “I am grateful to have been given this opportunity to perform at such a serene and beautiful place like Kanha Shanti Vanam, that too in the divine presence of Pujya Daaji. This is quite an experience – a musical and yet a spiritual one for everyone present here.”
The event was also marked by opening the world’s first Inner Peace Museum at Heartfulness which showcases artworks, paintings, sculptures, and other installations that depict the life and teachings of the Lalaji Maharaj in his own handwriting. The purpose of the Inner Peace Museum is also to seed an aspiration pay homage to humanity’s inner quest for the highest since creation. Establishing the museum symbolizes that true peace can only be possible if we realize it in our hearts and through it unite as one. Professional artists from Germany and art students from The Dresden Academy of Fine Arts joined hands with the Heartfulness Institute for this beautiful initiative.
The ten-day music festival has had a line-up of greats such as Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Rahul Sharma, Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar and Shashank Subramanyam, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, and Kaushiki Chakraborty.
Quite many visitors are staying through the festivities for the next few days and benefitting from the serenity and positive vibrations at the centre. In terms of the concerts, they are awaiting to watch the other prominent personalities weave in magic with their music.
