Special Gram Sabhas on April 7 in district Samba: DC

Samba: District Administration Samba is going to conduct special Gram Sabhas on April 7, 2021 with special focus on Jal Shakti Abhiyan across 101 Panchayats of 09 blocks of the district.

In this regard, Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta, today chaired a meeting of District officers and finalised the activities to be undertaken as a part of special Gram Sabha.

Assistant Commissioner Development Sidharth Dhiman; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jitender Mishra; Chief Planning Officer Sukhleen Kour; District Panchayat Officer Piyush Dhotra; District Information Officer Ajay Sharmaa and Executive Engineer REW attended the meeting.

The DC said that during the Special Gram Sabhas various activities will be held, including Sharmdaan, Plantation drives, IEC activities, identification of land for Panchayat Ghars, awareness hazards of single use plastic, waste plastic collection, besides identification of government building for rainwater harvesting. A District officer will be deputed in each Panchayat for ensuring the success of the gram sabhas.

The DC directed concerned officers to work in tandem for achieving the desired results.. He asked them to involve Panchayat members for enabling sustained development in the district. The publicity of the programme is also of utmost important for its success and DIO Samba shall regularly disseminate information on ten programmes, added the DC Samba.
