Special Meeting of Jiangsu University International Communication Capacity Building Alliance Held at Nanjing University

On April 9, the special working meeting of the Jiangsu University International Communication Capacity Building Alliance was held at the Xianlin Campus of Nanjing University. Hu Zhu, deputy director of the Information Office of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, and Chen Yunsong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Nanjing University and director of the school office, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

In his speech, Chen Yunsong, on behalf of the alliance member units, sincerely thanked the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Department of Education, and the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office for their careful guidance, as well as the strong support of relevant media cooperation units. He introduced that since the establishment of the alliance, all work has been progressing steadily, and guidance units, member units, and media colleagues have actively discussed alliance building measures to fully explore their respective roles in building a Chinese discourse system, deepening mutual learning among civilizations, innovating communication technologies, and developing cultural products. With advantageous resources in other areas, we plan and launch in-depth cooperation projects and continuously explore the road to alliance building. Chen Yunsong said that as the chairman unit of the alliance, Nanjing University will effectively fulfill its role and mission as the leader and coordinator of the alliance, run the daily affairs of the alliance well, establish a normal communication mechanism with each member university, and solidly promote the alliance’s key plans and tasks, work together with universities to actively explore aspects such as theoretical research on international communication and improvement of practical skills, strive to create a new situation in the international communication work of universities in our province, and make greater contributions to further telling the story of China and Jiangsu.

Hu Zhu fully affirmed the efforts made by the chairman unit and secretariat of the alliance since its establishment, and thanked the member units and media colleagues for their full collaboration. He emphasized that all member universities should further enhance their sense of responsibility and mission for international communication work, and deeply realize that the construction and development of the alliance is an important measure to serve the overall situation of national external publicity, help build a culturally strong province, and enhance the internationalization level of member universities; Solidly advance the key tasks and work of the alliance, establish the Jiangsu University Joint Research Institute for International Communication, successfully organize international communication exchange seminars for Jiangsu universities, and promote the construction of a matrix of overseas media accounts; continuously optimize the mechanism to form a stronger synergy, and the alliance must serve as a member university To provide more platforms for displaying research results, each member university must strengthen the coordination of resources within the school, and each international communication center must proactively carry out in-depth cooperation with the alliance and member universities. He said that relevant departments of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government will also continue to provide strong support for the construction and development of the alliance, and work together to write a new chapter in Jiangsu’s modernization construction of “Strong, Rich, Beautiful and High”.

Representatives attending the meeting provided suggestions and suggestions on issues such as improving the implementation of the 2024 work plan, giving full play to the characteristics of each institution, building an academic and cultural exchange platform, and improving multi-party cooperation mechanisms.
