Startup as a diploma
The Startup as a Diploma program aims to engage talented students in the development of the tech entrepreneurship ecosystem, as well as to support nascent businesses. The development and implementation of a training program for applicants and university teachers in the preparation of start-ups as FQPs are envisaged by the Digital Economy program.
The final qualifying work is a real-life business project created by one student or a team (with legal entities and a formed team), and be in the idea stage. He must demonstrate the level of preparation of the graduate for independent professional activity.
The program is based on an annual cycle of events: trainings aimed at developing project and entrepreneurial competencies, soft and hard skills; student accelerator; support in the preparation of applications for competitions to attract funding; consultations from leading experts and constant support of teams at all stages of the project life cycle.
A student of any field of study, specialty and level of education can become participants in the Startup as a Diploma program. The main condition is the correspondence between the role in the startup team and the functional responsibilities of the student, confirming the development of the competencies established by the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education or OS of Higher Education.
For example , Alexander Chistyakov , a graduate of the bachelor’s degree at the Institute of Forest, Mining and Construction Sciences of Petrozavodsk State University, has developed a mechanized hoist for waste from cages – fish traps – for Russian fish farming trout enterprises. Research and approbation of the prototype took place on the basis of the Engineering Park of the Institute under the scientific guidance of Evgeny Andriyanovich Tikhonov, Associate Professor of the Department of Transport and Technological Machines of PetrSU.
The development can be used in small and medium-sized cages, does not provide for a net cone, which means that when ascending the fish will not fall out of the cone and accumulate at the bottom of the reservoir. Another plus of this work is that the bottom sediment will not rise, which is a stress factor for fish, especially in winter. The development is aimed at improving the efficiency and environmental safety of cage fishery enterprises.
The use of foreign waste systems is difficult due to their increased cost in small and medium cages. They are more adapted for offshore installations in non-freezing areas for aqua farms with high production capacity. Our development is a complete import-substituting analogue, which is adapted to the conditions of the arctic and subarctic zones. There are no moving parts in the system, it is made of low pressure polyethylene, which does not require specialized expensive equipment ,
– Alexander Chistyakov tells about the development.
The principle of operation of the mechanized system is based on the Norwegian AirLift technology – lifting fluid from the depth by supplying compressed air under pressure, forced by the compressor into the supply pipe. The developed device in PetrSU consists of a vertical pipe lowered into water, into the lower part of which air is injected under pressure. The resulting mixture of liquid and bubbles rises and captures fish waste due to the difference in specific gravity of the mixture and liquid. A corrugated pipe is connected to the cone. A buoy is used to ensure the vertical position of the pipe. The system also includes a water separator that separates dead fish from water and a container for collecting fish. All components are based on a watercraft of a suitable carrying capacity.
The system is characterized by low cost and labor costs, the use of one compressor for any number of cages.
