Among Stevens’ six top-100 online graduate programs, Systems Engineering and Engineering Management were tied for the second-highest rated.

“The School of Systems and Enterprises takes great pride in its online master’s programs. Our curriculum is informed by current research and grounded in the state of practice. Our faculty have real-world industry and government experience, and are involved in current research as academics,” said Anthony Barrese, interim dean for Stevens’ School of Systems and Enterprises. “Stevens goes above and beyond to meet the needs of those looking to continue their education in Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, as well as all of its online programs, and it is rewarding to see those efforts continue to receive national accolades.”

Online learning continues to grow just three years removed from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since Fall 2020, the percentage of students choosing the online graduate program has increased from 19.5% to 23.6% currently in Engineering Management and from 40.1% to 55.2% in Systems Engineering. Additionally, the total number of enrolled students in each program over the same period has increased 123% in Engineering Management and 92% in Systems Engineering.

For the 2023 Best Online Master’s in Engineering Programs rankings, U.S. News ranked schools using five categories: engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer assessment, services and technologies, and student excellence. U.S. News selects factors, known as ranking indicators, to assess each program in the categories outlined above. A program’s score for each ranking indicator is calculated using data that the program reported to U.S. News in a statistical survey and a peer assessment survey.
